Front Door Mortise Lock Tune Up

The front door latch is part of the original 110 year old mortise lock pictured above.  I believe it’s a solid brass Eastlake mortise lock.  It has been a bit sticky ever since we bought the house so I finally got around to pulling it out and getting it serviced today.  When I opened it up it definitely looked like it’s been at least a few decades since it last got cleaned up:

For $35 at Price’s Lock & Safe I got the assembly cleaned up , a few springs replaced, and lubricated.  It now works fantastic — possibly as well as it did 110 years ago:

They don’t make ’em like they used to ;)
