Blog Catch Up: Kitchen Cabinet Construction

With the birth of our daughter Eleanor in early May I haven’t had much time to post anything, so below are some photos documenting the cabinet construction shortly before we moved in.

Below and above are some sketches of my cabinet design not including crown moulding and other trim details:

To accommodate the kitchen pass-through (small door for food to be passed from kitchen to dining room) required a bit of creativity:

Still to come: doors, drawers, shelves, in-cabinet lighting, trim, and painting!  These will be face frame cabinets with flat panels and applied moulding, and all except the inside will be painted white.  The upper cabinets have two tiers; the upper tier will have glass panels and the lower tier will have wood panels.  Still lots of work to do, but I think they’ll look good!
