One of the top priorities at this stage of the restoration is to secure the home from unwanted intruders: notably anything small and furry. To that end I recently carried out some repair work to the crawl space door which had a noticeable gap between the frame and the door at ground level. I added a new bottom rail which allowed me to add a flush sliding bolt and closed up any and all gaps between the door and the frame. I also scraped off the concrete splatter from foundation work from a few years ago, gave it a new coat of paint, and added a new handle. Above is a before and after photo.
